Description

Urban landscapes can provide important resources for wildlife and pollinators such as bees, butterflies, moths, bats, and hummingbirds. Increasingly, these values are coming to the forefront of project goals and objectives; this Advanced Smartscape Course will equip you with the basic knowledge needed to confidently and effectively incorporate the needs of wildlife and pollinators into your projects. Through this three-part series, students will deepen their understanding of how our urban landscape planning and maintenance decisions can either help or hinder our natural wildlife populations. Three classes will focus on: Wildlife and Pollinator Ecology Overview, Plant Materials for Wildlife and Pollinator Conservation, and How to Design a Site-Specific Wildlife and Pollinator Planting Palette. Must have successfully completed Smartscape Series to register for this course.

Completion Requirements

PREREQUISITE: Participants must have already earned their Smartscape Series Certificate. Students must attend all three classes to complete the Advanced Smartscape: Landscaping with Nature in Mind course.
