This course meets on Tues., Dec. 6, Weds., Dec. 7 & Thurs Dec. 8 and is from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day.

Registrations will close at 12 p.m. on Dec. 5th, the day before this course begins.

In this three-part series, participants will receive in-depth knowledge about managing the trees in our urban desert community. Topics include structural assessment, stem strength, tree failure prevention, pruning, irrigation and general arboriculture science.

Instructor Juan Barba is a recently retired Practicing and Consulting Arborist and the Owner of Juan J. Barba & Associates, Consulting Arboricultural Services. Climbing trees professionally since 1977 and based around a B.S. from the University of Arizona in Landscape & Environmental Horticulture, Juan has vast knowledge of southwestern environmental, cultural, disease and insect problems. He has lectured around the country and has taught at Pima College and presented at the University of Arizona and at several innovative landscape programs for contractors and designers.
